From the capital to the islands: an itinerary that will take you to discover Bangkok, also known as "the city of angels", which never fails to impress. It is the most fascinating metropolis in Southeast Asia, a must-visit for those who want to experience the infinite facets of the East. The actual city is located on the eastern bank of the Chao Phraya River and is divided in two by the main railway line that runs from north to south. Despite the chaotic traffic that can paralyze the streets for hours, Bangkok offers many quiet and secluded places within reach, where you can savor the meditative atmosphere of Buddhist temples. Then relax on the wonderful white beaches of the south: Phuket offers an unbeatable and perfect combination of white sand, palm trees, splendid hospitality, and accommodations for all needs. Among the most famous beaches are Patong, Kata, and Karon Beach, as well as nearby Phi Phi Island, Racha, Phang Nga Bay, and the stunning Similan Islands, which are a bit further away but definitely worth a visit. About an hour from the northernmost tip of Phuket, the coastal town of Khao Lak is a rapidly developing eco-tourism destination and is also the ideal starting point for natural paradises such as the Similan Islands (3 hours by speedboat) and the Ko Surin Marine National Park (best months to visit are December to May; the park is closed from May to October).
