Day 2 — Kangaroo Island
Breakfast, Today your local guide will introduce you to some of the main attractions of the island. The first stop will be the fascinating raptor presentation at Raptor Domain, an educational, interactive, and stimulating experience. The only free-flight raptor display in South Australia is considered by many to be the most interactive raptor presentation in all of Australia. Next, head to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery for a delicious lunch, followed by an introductory talk on the history of the oil distillery and a guided tour. You can choose to taste the range of Kangaroo Island Ciders from Colony Cove, including Apple Sparkler and Cider (additional cost). Finally, you can visit their souvenir shop, where you will find a range of eucalyptus-based products. The next stop is Clifford's Honey Farm, where you can take an informative guided tour of the honey room, learn about the extraction process, taste a non-alcoholic honey drink, and have the opportunity to taste the Honey Wheat Ale from the Drunken Drone brewery. In the shop at the entrance of the farm, you can see a functioning beehive where you can try to spot the queen bee. You can purchase various varieties of pure Kangaroo Island ligurian honey and beauty products, as well as the famous honey ice cream. Continue to Pennington Bay, a spectacular beach on the southern coast of Kangaroo Island, where you can take a photo before reaching your final stop, False Cape Wines Cellar Door. This new and extraordinary cellar door is made from recycled wood, jetty beams, and limestone from the property. Here you can participate in a structured wine tasting, enjoying the tranquil view of the surrounding vineyards. The tour ends at the Penneshaw Hotel where you will have plenty of time to have dinner (at your own expense) before returning to the Penneshaw Ferry Terminal., return to Adelaide by boat + coach (no guide), arrival at about 23, arrival and independent transfer to the hotel.
