Free day, The iSimangaliso Wetland Park, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, covers an area of 332,000 hectares, including 200 km of wild and unspoiled coastline on the Indian Ocean, in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. It stretches from Kosy Bay in the north, known for its ancient fishing villages, to the relaxed village of St Lucia in the south. Within iSimangaliso, eight ecosystems interact with each other and host a multitude of fish, wildlife, and flora. The landscape is also characterized by coastal dunes, some of the highest in the world, dating back 25,000 years. In this natural environment of rare beauty, it is also possible to observe the migration of whales, a truly exciting experience. Between June and November, these cetaceans leave the icy waters of Antarctica to mate and reproduce near the coasts of Mozambique and Madagascar. Advantage Tours is the only authorized operator to take visitors by boat up to 300 meters away from the whales. The coast is also home to leatherback and loggerhead turtles, which can be observed during special tours departing from Cape Vidal, St Lucia, Sodwana Bay, Rocktail Bay, Mabibi, and Bhanga Nek, between November and March. Even Nelson Mandela emphasized the uniqueness of this place, defining iSimangaliso as "the only place in the world where the oldest and largest land mammal (the rhinoceros and the elephant) share an ecosystem with the oldest fish in the world (the coelacanth) and the largest marine mammal (the whale)".,
