Abstract
Il Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge si trova sulla riva sinistra del fiume Marañón, a 120 chilometri a sud-ovest della città di Iquitos, a 10 minuti dalla Riserva nazionale Pacaya Samiria. Per raggiungere il lodge si raggiunge la città portuale di Nauta in 1 ora e 45 minuti e si prosegue in barca a motore fino al Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge in 30/40 minuti. Con 2.080.000 ettari, non solo è la più grande riserva nazionale del Perù, ma anche la più grande foresta allagata protetta del mondo e uno dei luoghi più ricchi di diversità biologica del pianeta. Qui si trovano 449 specie di uccelli tropicali, 102 di mammiferi, 256 specie conosciute di pesci d'acqua dolce, 69 specie di rettili e oltre 1000 varietà di piante e specie in pericolo di estinzione come la lontra gigante, la lucertola nera, il lamantino e il delfino rosa del Rio delle Amazzoni. Circondato da una fitta vegetazione, il lodge è costruito con materiali naturali in stile locale e dispone di aree comuni, tra cui bar, ristorante, sala lettura, terrazza panoramica con amache e piccolo negozio di souvenirs e 8 bungalow. L'elettricità (220 V) è disponibile solo la sera, dalle 18h00 alle 22h00 e ogni camera dispone di lampade a cherosene e torcia. Il lodge dispone di un sistema di comunicazione diretta con la città di Iquitos tramite radio ad onde corte. Per le escursioni i gruppi sono limitati a un massimo di 10 persone per barca. ROOMS: rooms only have one or two beds. “Triple”, “quadruple”, “family” room refers to the number of the guests, who will sleep in the beds provided (max. 2). Likewise, special requests for double or separate beds; adjoining, high-floor, low-floor rooms etc. are always upon request and these services can never be considered as granted..
