Abstract
Located in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest, one of the most pristine natural areas in the world, this lodge is a truly exclusive retreat immersed in the wild nature of Canada’s Pacific coast.
Surrounded by rainforest, fjords and ocean, the lodge is set within Broughton Archipelago Park, the largest marine protected area in British Columbia, making it a perfect base for observing both terrestrial and marine wildlife.
The main lodge features a welcoming common area with a comfortable lounge, dining room, bar, and a large brick fireplace, as well as an expansive panoramic window overlooking the harbour, with southern and western exposure—ideal for enjoying spectacular sunsets.
Along the beach, a boardwalk leads to eight oceanside suites, each with a private bathroom, wood-burning stove, and two queen-size beds. The remaining four suites, also with private bathrooms, are located in the floating lodge, accessible via a ramp just below the main lodge. The property offers a total of only 12 rooms, all built in cedar wood and furnished with local materials and artefacts, providing a fully immersive West Coast Canadian atmosphere.
Both the floating lodge—representing the historic core of the property, now fully renovated—and the main land-based structure have a unique appeal, connected by a network of trails and boardwalks linking the forest and the sea, making this a truly special place.
Here, nature takes centre stage: grizzly and black bears roam the area, while orcas, humpback whales, seals, and sea lions inhabit this extraordinary ecosystem.,
