Abstract
A classic self-drive trip to visit the main destinations of the Malaysian peninsula, from Kuala Lumpur to Penang passing through Taman Negara, Cameron Highlands, and Penang. The itinerary allows for continuing the journey with a beach stay in Langkawi or other locations in Malaysia.,

Itinerary
Day 1 — Taman Negara
Vehicle delivery at the lobby of your hotel. Departure on your own to Kuala Tahan (240km / 4 hours). Upon arrival in Kuala Tahan, you will take a boat to cross the river (2 minutes) and then arrive at your resort (official check-in is scheduled for 3:00 PM). This large park extends for about 4334 km and is home to one of the oldest tropical rainforests in the world with a high level of biodiversity. You will explore the park through nature walks and boat trips accompanied by a naturalist guide. At the end of the day, return to the resort for a buffet dinner. A night walk is scheduled for 8:45 PM (approximately 1 hour).

Day 2 — Taman Negara
Breakfast, In the morning, I will meet with the guide and a local ranger (English-speaking) and we will set off for a trek to the top of Teresek Hill. Then, we will have the opportunity to experience walking on a long suspended bridge (canopy) that stretches for 550 meters (closed on Fridays). Lunch will be provided. In the afternoon, we will go on a boat excursion to visit and admire the rapids of the Kuala Trenggan River and the Orang Asli village (subject to availability due to their nomadic lifestyle). Day 3 — Taman Negara → Cameron Highlands
Breakfast, Departure for Cameron Highlands. Along the way, you will come across several simple villages inhabited by the Orang Asli, the indigenous people of the Malay Peninsula who still largely rely on natural fiber collection and hunting for their livelihoods. Arrival at the Cameron Highlands is expected in the afternoon. Located on the northwestern border of the state of Pahang, this is the largest cultivated plain in Malaysia, alternating with lush and wild high-altitude forests. Famous for its tea plantations and mild temperatures, providing relief from the equatorial heat of the region, the Highlands are named after the English surveyor William Cameron, who first mapped the area. The Cameron Highlands still retain a characteristic belle époque style, with its well-kept farms, Tudor-style country houses, English gardens, and golf courses., lunch and dinner not included. Day 4 — Cameron Highlands → Penang
Breakfast, departure to, km 260, we suggest a stop at Ipoh e Bukit Merah, Ipoh, the capital of the state of Perak, where you can walk through old streets in the small city center and visit one of the many Buddhist temples carved into the rock. In Bukit Merah, there is a small island on the lake that can be reached by boat, which is home to the Orangutan Conservation Center, the only one of its kind here on the Malay Peninsula. In this center, these primates, found orphaned or near death in the Malaysian Borneo jungle, are admitted to receive treatment and rehabilitation. Various aspects of research and study on these primates are also addressed, with the aim of raising awareness among federal authorities and future generations about the endangered future of orangutans. Day 5 — Penang

Once you reach the Penang Airport terminal, take the centre lane and park your car in an open-air car park. When entering an open-air car park, you do not have to pay the parking fee. The parking attendant will scan your car's licence plate number. Proceed to the Terminal Building and look for the Hertz counter, where you will find a key box. Drop the key into the box. In the event of a dispute over the return time, the staff will check with the car park management. In the event of additional charges, the staff will normally send an email to the customer before proceeding with the charge (e.g. fuel, etc.).,

- ROOMS: Triple rooms are double rooms plus an extra bed, typically smaller than the other two. Triple rooms are subject to availability at the time of reservation. - HOTEL, CHECK-IN: rooms are usually assigned starting from 3pm. Earlier check-in is at the hotel’s discretion. If you request earlier assignation, you must book an extra night at the beginning of your stay.
- HOTEL, CHECK-OUT: rooms must be left in the morning (the exact time will be provided by the hotel). Supplements for late check-out amount to 50% of an extra night if you check-out by 6pm, and to a full extra night if you check-out after that
- HOTEL / ITINERARY, CHANGES: The Organizing Body reserves the right to substitute the itinerary and/or the hotels to alternative of a similar or superior category in the event of unplanned circumstances, and if the safe and normal proceeding of the tour is threatened. Furthermore, when in the impossibility for all of the travellers to stay at the same hotel, the group will be split amidst several hotels of the same category.
- TIMETABLES: departure times are indicative, depending on the number of hotel pick-ups per day. Tourists are kindly asked to be in the lobby at the indicated time. Depending on which hotel you are staying at, you may have to wait 15 minutes or more. The return times are indicative and subject to change depending on a number of factors, including traffic and duration of the visits.
