Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, is a city steeped in history and culture, known for its turbulent past and its rebirth. Located along the banks of the River Lagan, Belfast is famous for its industrial heritage, including the famous Harland and Wolff shipyard, where the Titanic was built. Today, Titanic Belfast is a state-of-the-art museum that tells the story of the ship and the city.
The city offers a vibrant cultural scene, with numerous museums, art galleries and theatres, such as the Lyric Theatre and the Grand Opera House. Belfast's politics and history are visible in the murals that adorn many buildings, bearing witness to the tensions of the past. Visitors can explore the city centre, historic markets such as St George's Market and beautiful botanical gardens.
Belfast is also a great starting point for exploring the landscape of Northern Ireland, including the Causeway Coast and the Giant's Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its combination of history, culture and natural beauty, Belfast is a fascinating destination for every type of traveller.
Donegal, a picturesque town along the Wild Atlantic Way, is famous for Donegal Castle and its lively central square, The Diamond, which is full of traditional pubs and craft shops. The town offers a welcoming Irish atmosphere, with live music in the pubs and spectacular scenery in the surrounding area, such as the impressive Slieve League cliffs.
