Tutte le strutture alberghiere della zona del Salar de Uyuni sono piuttosto spartane, pur offrendo servizi essenziali e mantenendo eccellenti standard di pulizia e comfort. Il cibo non è facilmente reperibile in alcune zone (come Uyuni) ed è quindi necessario dimostrare pazienza e comprensione per la semplicità del pasto. Gli spostamenti nel Salar possono essere difficoltosi durante il periodo delle piogge, da dicembre ad aprile. In questo periodo dell'anno il Salar viene letteralmente coperto dalle acque e il programma delle visite e delle escursioni può subire variazioni.
