Day 7 — Merida

American breakfast, morning visit of Merida, This exquisitely elegant late-19th-century hacienda rises in the middle of an expanse of agave fields, about 30 km from Merida. As you visit Sotuta de Peón, drawn by mules on a wooden platform along the rails, you will think you are travelling back in time. Here, you will be able to witness every step of the transformation process of the agave (also called “Green Gold” in this region), from the fibre to the finished product. The tour will also include a visit to a typical Mayan house: the landlord himself will come to welcome you. At the end of the tour, take a moment to take a dip in the refreshing waters of the gorgeous cenote – a beautiful natural pit of karst origin.
