Day 4 — Arequipa → Chivay
Breakfast, departure to, the journey from Arequipa to the Colca Valley is nothing short of breathtaking. You will drive by the volcanoes Chachani and Pichu Pichu; cross the Cañahuas Vicuna Reserve and see the vicuñas as they graze; admire the mighty, Pre-Inca terraces, trod by shepherds in their traditional clothes driving their herds of llamas. Finally, the road climbs up the Patapampa pass, at a whopping 4,910 m a.s.l. The climb is extremely steep, and the lack of oxygen makes it even more challenging. However, the exhilarating descent down the canyon to the village of Chivay (1,300 m lower) makes it absolutely worth it., arrival at Chivay, lunch at a restaurant. Breakfast, transfer to Machu Picchu con bus navetta, morning visit to the archaeological site of, Machu Picchu is one of the major tourist attractions in South America: an astonishing, mysterious archaeological site, rising between tall mountains covered in tropical lush. Perched as it is on the steep mountainside overlooking the Urumbamba river, Machu Picchu might seem to rise at a considerable height: in fact, it is located about 1,000 m lower than Cuzco. Day 10 — Cuzco
Breakfast, morning visit of the city highlights, morning visit of Korikancha, il centro religioso più sacro dell’epoca incaica dedicato al culto del dio Sole e sul quale, dopo l’arrivo degli spagnoli, è stato costruito il convento di Santo Domingo. Continuazione verso la Plaza de Armas, dove secondo la leggenda si conficcò il bastone d'oro dell'Inca Manco Capac, indicandogli il luogo esatto dove fondare la città che sarebbe diventata la capitale dell'Impero. Visita alla grande Cattedrale, eretta nel XVI secolo sulle fondamenta del Palazzo incaico di Viracocha. Successivamente visita alle rovine fuori città : l'anfiteatro di Qenqo, centro di culto alla Pachamama (Madre Terra in quechua); Tambomachay, conosciuto come “Bagno dell’Inca”, centro dedicato al culto dell’acqua. ltima tappa a Sacsayhuaman, ancora oggi oggetto di studi archeologici. Questo sito copre un’area di 6 km2 e si pensa potesse essere un centro polifunzionale al pari di Machu Picchu. HOTEL / ITINERARY, CHANGES: The Organizing Body reserves the right to substitute the itinerary and/or the hotels to alternative of a similar or superior category in the event of unplanned circumstances, and if the safe and normal proceeding of the tour is threatened. Furthermore, when in the impossibility for all of the travellers to stay at the same hotel, the group will be split amidst several hotels of the same category.

The Peruvian Ministry of Tourism has introduced the CLOSED NUMBER FOR MACHU PICCHU: it is therefore NECESSARY TO BOOK WELL IN ADVANCE. At the time of booking, it is mandatory to provide date of birth, nationality, passport number, and expiration date; without this information, the reservation for all services for visiting Machu Picchu cannot be confirmed. If the provided data does not match the identification document presented at the entrance, access to the archaeological site will be denied.
A good part of the tour takes places at a height of 3,000mt and above, with long bus rides through winding, sometimes dirt roads, in barely populated areas. We recommend you check with your doctor before you book the tour (especially if you suffer from heart of respiratory conditions).
