It has the densest concentration of tidewater glaciers in the world, some flowing a dozen miles from ice-capped peaks to terminate in cliffs of ice towering hundreds of feet above the water. You'll also see spectacular waterfalls and wildlife, including bald eagles, seabirds, otters, Dall’s porpoises, and occasionally whales (but typically not on the same frequency as in Kenai Fjords National Park, your other main choice for an Alaska glacier cruise)., arrival at Valdez, lunch and dinner not included, accommodation,

It was founded in 1902 after the discovery of a large gold deposit by Felice Pedroni, an Italian immigrant. During World War II, it became an important military base and later served as a base for the construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline., The visit includes a tour of the mining town of Fairbanks, with a stop at the Museum of the North, followed by a cruise on the Chena River aboard a historic sternwheel paddleboat (Sternwheeler)., lunch and dinner not included, the rest of the day is free, accommodation,
